Moreover, the Massachusetts Westover Air Force base is today house of 439th Airlifting Wing, the twenty sixth Marine great Regiment and not to leave behind the 226th Transportation Army Company. A part of the many military operations, this fantastic air force base was once used like a good backup in terms of landing for the NASA’s shuttle programs. Natick Soldier Systems Center
The Massachusetts Soldier Systems center is to be fully respected. Today, it is the home of The United States of America Soldier Systems and it is situated in the beautiful and interesting Natick, MA. It is approximately seventeen miles from Boston (West). The Systems Center installation is located in a strategic and marvelous place. The tiny housing areas are just great and they are scattered along all the especial surrounding towns. The best part is, many of the top public schools are right there and fascinating cities from the nation are right next to it. This location is definitely fabulous! USCG Air Station Cape Cod
The Massachusetts Cape Cod Air Force Base in the United States is simply great. It is an Air Force situated right in northwest Massachusetts, more precise in the Military Reservation, on known Flatrock Hill. The Massachusetts Cape Cod AFB starting working back in April 1980, it was known as the Cape C Earliest Missile Station meant for warning and it was later renamed as the Cape Cod AF Station later on Jan, 1982. This facility is today home of many even to sixth Warning Squadron of Space right after North Truro AFS closure in Truro, MA. Their mission is fantastic so you should keep reading. United States Coast Guard Yard
The Maryland Coast Guard Yard is in the known Anne Arundel County right in Maryland and it is today pretty much the only solely shipyard serving USA especially for Coast Guard usage. This marvelous and high-tech facility is constantly operating and serving like the most important spot in terms of Coast Guard’s fleet maintenance, too. It is the only place especially designed for the many brand-new ships. Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head
Maryland is home to numerous military bases and societies where military families live. Maryland Indian Head is a large military town located in Charles County having population of around 3500. The area is famously known to have gun and rocket testing site, it has also been home to manufacturing of smokeless powder in Indian Head Powder Factory since 1990. The Maryland Indian Head base was first built in 1920 and it is located near Polomac River. The base was a small town during World War II till 1960s, after which it received good number of funding by attracting investors. Today there are also few retailers working inside the base. There are also few plans to expand the base through private investments. There are also sites used to test weapons and they have set up houses and arsons.

The weapon manufacturing companies comprise of civilians and military scientists, assigned to develop weapons for military use. The testing of these weapons is administrated by Naval Surface Warfare Center. They also have a rapid response team incase of biological weapon outbreak, to control and contain the event; the team is known as Chemical and Biological Incident Response Force.

The base has all the facilities for Army families living inside the base. It has schools and education centers such as Henry E. Lackey High School offering number of services and features to children of Army families such as swimming pool, baseball, indoor track, basketball and more. The school offers excellent subjects in their circular and offers best class education.

United States Naval Academy (USNA)
The Maryland Naval Academy was once founded back in 1845. George Bancroft was the one to bring it alive. The magnificent history of the Naval Academy cannot be missed and it has even displayed the interesting USA history itself. This academy has experienced many changes throughout the years. Naval Air Station Patuxent River
The Maryland Patuxent River is a Naval Station. It is also known like the NAS PaxRiver. This is a USA Air Station situated in the fancy St. Mary’s County, in Maryland; it is right on Chesapeake Bay- This Naval Station is very close to the Patuxent River mouth. This is an optimal spot.

Today, it is actually home to United States Naval exam Pilot School, & it serves like a testing, examination and evaluation place. It is also good for systems acquisition related to the Naval Aviation. It was commissioned back on April 1943 and was acquired through a very eminent domain- this Maryland naval air station started growing at a fast speed in order to properly respond the World War II needs.

Fort George G. Meade
It is a census controlled defense post and it is located in Anne Arundel County in the city of Odenton in Maryland. The population of the post is little above 10,000 and it is home to National Security Agency. The project started in 1917 as one of sixteen temporarily headquarter of Army installments, where US soldiers stayed before being deployed in Europe during World War I. Fort Detrick (MRMC)
It is basically a US Army medical center and it is located in the center of Fredrick in state of Maryland. Interestingly it formerly worked as US Biological Weapons Program but it was ended in 1973. Today it works as both research center in the field of medicine and biology. It is home to research and development of biological chemicals and medicines. Infact it is also home to US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, which is still in operation today. The Maryland Fort Detrick works along number of institutes and research departments to conduct researches in biology and medicine.

The center was first constructed to be part of the airport but it served as a medical center during World War I and it is named in honor of Major Frederick L. The location of the center also played a vital role during Cold War. Just after World War II the Fort Detrick was converted into a permanent location for biological research program during peace. National Naval Medical Center (NNMC)
Maryland Bethesda Medical Center is also known as National Naval Medical Center and it is situated in the city of Bethesda in state Maryland. The medical center was built in 1940 and it has been operating as one of the best US naval hospitals. The staff of medical center comprises of both civilians and military personnel. There are also some plans to merge Maryland Bethesda Medical Center with Walter Reed Army Medical Center to create a larger medical center with more facilities and services. The medical offers great services and it is build with many medical features. The original design of the project only included health care services but after numerous upgrades of medical staff and instruments it is more than just medical center. Today it has become home to medical center for family of US President, American hero and some of the most high profile civil and military personnel. Even the President Ronal Reagan’s wife Nancy Reagan visited Maryland Bethesda Medical Center for medical care.

In 1960 it went under a major expansion upgrade costing around $5.6 million, the main building was added with more floors, more bed spaces were added to the inventory of the center and temporarily ward building built during World War II was removed from the project.

The Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base is well recognized as the prominent home for the Atlantic Fleets Trident II Submarines containing ballistic missiles. These submarines are composite of nuclear Trident missiles that are known weapons of mass destruction. This development is situated in the county of Camden, on the south eastern border of Georgia.

The naval base comprises a total landform of 16, 000 acres and facilitates a total of 9, 000 civilians and active duty personnel’s. The establishment is well recognized in the efforts executed and deemed the top naval installation in the entire Department of Defense attaining, the Commander in Chief’s Installation of Excellence Award. Other merits include, the Occupational Health and Safety Administration, as the recipient for the highest rating in safety for Voluntary Protection Program. For the third consecutive year, the installation was also awarded merits for the Secretary of Navy and Chief of Naval Operations Safety Ashore.

Keesler Air Force Base was founded on August 25, 1941 in Biloxi, Mississippi under the operation of the Air Education and Training Command. It was originally named in honor of Second Lieutenant Samuel Reeves Keesler Jr who was born in Mississippi and died during the World War II.

Keesler AFB is the base for the 81st Training Wing (81TW), the largest of the Air Education and Training Command (AETC) and the Second Air Force (2 AF) under its commanding officer Brigadier General Gregory J. Touhill. The base is one of the biggest technical centerl in the AETC consisting of five squadrons in the Training Complex.

The 81st Training Wing duty is provide technical training and all the possible education needed for the coming assignment training for service air men upon the completing their basic training course. The teachings include training electronics like ground radio, wide band maintenance, cryptography, information technology and avionics.

It also trains their employee’s knowledge in meteorology which includes weather forecasting and analysis, air traffic control, tropical cyclone forecasting, Aviation Resource Management (ARMS) and radar operations. All the weather forecasters of the Department of Defense have undergone training in Keesler since 1992 up to the present while the training of pilots in flying the C-12 and the C-21 started again on 1994. The base also has the 81st Medical Group which operates as the Air Force’s second largest medical center.

This is the base where the basic training in the USAF management takes place and the training of the avionic maintenance in the field of Navigational Aids, Electronic Warfare, Ground Radio Repair and Computer Repair. There were major changes in the Air Force that also affects the Keesler units where in the Keesler Training was inactivated while the Second Air Force (2nd AF) was activated on July 1, 1993.

Located a few miles from Bloomington, the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division Base is the third largest Naval Base in the world. It is named after William M. Crane and covers about 259 square kilometers of Lake Greenwood. Though parts of the Base extend into Lawrence and Greene Counties, the larger portion is in Martin County. The bureau of weapons expanded its operations in Crane as weapons became more sophisticated in the 1950s to respond to the sophistication. Crane was placed under the Naval Sea Systems command and renamed the Naval Weapons Support Center, which was a better description of their operations. The Crane Army Ammunition Activity was later formed as a tenant command to deal with the manufacture and storage of ammunition at the Base.

Crane first produced batteries, electronic components and rotating components. Among the services it offered were repair, overhaul, failure analysis and standard hardware design and engineering. Now world renowned ordnance roots, crane is recognized for its sophisticated and modern weaponry and technical products. The center also conducts a lot of research into weapons development and evaluation. They also regulate weapon acquisition and combat system security. Crane is also into fleet maintenance and modernization. They also develop and maintain power systems, strategic systems, small arms and surface electronic systems. The Base also develops marine systems such as undersea warfare systems. Crane developed the system the United States Army for the yet-to-come DD(X) class of destroyer and the Littoral Combat Ship. A groove of trees, also known as the Constitution Grove at the base is harvested for the White Oak wood for the United States Constitution. The Center also oversees strategic missions.

Located in North or Central Indiana, the Indiana Grissom Air Force Base hosts the largest KC-135R Stratotanker wing. Named After an American astronaut Colonel Virgil Ivan Grissom, who died at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida during the Apollo 1 accident, the Indiana Grissom was originally built as a United States Navy establishment. The United States Air Force opened it in 1954 after it was closed in 1942 by the Navy. Grissom Air Force Base has hosted numerous aircrafts since its reopening until 1994. The 434^th Air refueling wing is the operating unit at the base and is made up of different squadrons and flights and three different groups and is commanded by Brigadier General Dean J. Dispinoy and has Master Sergeant Larry Brady as Chief Master Sergeant. All the organizations based at the Grissom Airforce Base wear different uniforms but all share the sense of honor, dedication and professionalism. They also impact the entire world with their work.

The Grissom hosts the United States Army Reserve and the Unites States Marine Corps Reserve units. The Civil Air Patrol, the Army Corps of Engineers, the Air Force Reserve Command Regional Supply Distribution Center and TRANSAM all have their offices in the Grissom Air Force Base. The Naval Air Station Bunker Hill was started in 1942 at the base to train United States Coast Guard Pilots, the United States Marine Corps and the Navy personnel but was ended by the end of the 2^nd World War. The station was used mainly for farming after the close of the Bunker Hill training until 1951 when the Navy was granted entry and turned it into an Air Force Base; by then it was still not being used by anyone. It also served for Tactical Air Command during the Korean War. It was inactive for a while until it hosted the 443^rd Air Base Squadron.
