McGuire Air Force Base
It is basically an US Air Force Base commissioned 87^th Air Base Wing with Air Mobility Command. Its main purpose is to provide support to on-going military operations. The 87^th Air Base Wing comprise of 3100 officers and civilians from Army, Naval and Air Force. The base is also home to other Air Force wings working together on the base. The base has two runways that are used by both military and civilians. The base is also used to station overseas military forces from Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines to travel to other parts of the world.

During World War II the base was first used to give support to air missions named as Civilian Conservation Corps. After the World War II the base was used for training purposes under First Air Force comprising of advance aircrafts such as F-16, F15 and more. At the time of the start of training program there were around 30 officers and around 400 officers, and the program continued till 1944.

The Air Technical Service Command also used the base in 1943 for maintenance of aircrafts for overseas operations especially North Africa and United Kingdom, which then continues till 1945 and started for Europe.

Talking about Strategic Air Command, the base was focused to turn into station for newly developed air crafts, and temporarily structures and buildings were converted into permanent buildings. Some of the planes that were stationed on New Jersey Mcguire such as Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and Boeing B-29 Superfortress, were moved to other bases. The base also received major changes in their wings and air craft fleets, some wings were replaced with others while some new air planes were stationed on the base.

Today there are number of command wings assigned to the base, which includes First Air Force, Air Force Command, Military Air Transport Service, Air Mobility Command and more.

Holloman Air Force Base
It is an Air Force Base located in the Otero County in New Mexico State in United States. It is also a census controlled area with a population of little above 2000 and the base is commissioned 49^th Wings of Air Combat Command short for ACC, which comprise of some of the most highly sophisticated and modern airplanes such as F-22 Raptor, F-117 by Lockheed and good range of McDonnell Douglas. It is also a census controlled area having population of little more than 2000 comprising of civilians and military personnel.

Talking about its services the base was established in 1942 and was named as Alamogordo Air Field. It was first decided that the base would be used for British Overseas Training Program, but the decision was reserved when Japanese attacked on the islands of Hawaii in 1942. The United States Army decided to train their new soldiers on the base, eventually the base went under the command of United States Army Air Force. The base became the center of military training of several wings and groups.

After World War II it was not certain if the base will offer its services, but the decision was changed when Air Force Logistics Command announced to use the base for testing of missiles and air planes. The Holloman Air Development Center was built on the base where numerous missiles were tested.

The base also has the honor to serve some of the fastest jet planes in the world. It has world’s fastest runway for jet planes and there are more number of F-16s than any other jet planes. It also served as the home to 479^th Tactical Training Wing that started in 1977 to train pilots to fly McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle as there is large number of F-15 stationed on the base, which gives it an advantage over other bases.

New York Military Academy
The New York Military Academy (NYMA) was established on 1889 by a Civil War veteran named Charles Jefferson Wright whose main belief that a good military structure needs the best surrounding for military excellence. The academy is situated in 30 acres of land in Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York at the base of Storm King Mountain and near the Hudson River.

NYMA started with 48 students and during its peak on 1960s has 525 students and as of 2010 they have 145 enrollees. NYMA starts from college preparatory school giving stress to military education to students from the New York and from around the world who wants to gain the best education a military can have. The academy is accredited by the New York State Department of Education and a member of Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges.

The NYMA has undergone extensive reconstruction program since it was caught in a disastrous fire. The academy is considered one of the oldest military academies in the country. It was on 1975 when the academy became a coeducational school giving chance to women who wants to be part of the military. It teaches the students the value of leadership and community awareness. The academy consists of 80% local enrollees and the rest are mixture of students from other parts of the world who believes in the quality of military education NYMA has.

A typical day at the academy starts at 6:00 am and ends at 10:00 pm by attending classes at day time and participating in different activities like sports and on weekends they are required to attend drill and ceremony, leadership training and cleaning their barracks. The military cadet with good scholastic standing can have their weekend leave.

NYMA who was striving because of the decrease in enrollment and lack of funds was saved by the academy’s alumni and local officials by raising a fund worth $6 million which is used in the rehabilitation of the Academy under the new management.

USCG Loran Support Unit
It is also known as USCG Loran Support Unit, its main purpose it to support Long Range Navigational System stations in the West Coast of United States. It helps ships find their location in the sea. The station works by sending low frequency signals out in the sea that is caught by ships and helps them find their location. The navigational system uses transmitters and receivers to calculate the location, the whole system is usually known as LORAN. It also helps aircraft find their location and the station ensures the correct transmission of LORAN frequencies.

Today there are more advance and accurate navigational systems than LORAN such as GPS (global positioning system). There are few issues regarding New Jersey Loran station as GPS is already easily available but the government decided to keep the station. Infact the military forces are no longer using LORAN for navigation as they have more accurate positioning system that is GPS. Today it is used by less advanced ships and aircrafts, which makes up small group of people and organizations. What is more interesting is that the new yearly budget has very less budget for LORAN-C systems and it is advised to discontinue all outdated systems.

The termination of the system was also supported by other national organizations, but US Coast Guard finds a good potential in New Jersey Loran stations as it is still useful for smaller ships and aircrafts.

But there are few small organizations and ships still using LORAN systems such as US Coast Guard. Their aircrafts, ships and helicopters are equipped with advance GPS systems but they still use LORAN systems for training purposes and small scale navigations.

The staff of the station comprise of both civilians and naval personnel. And it is located on the shore for easy transmission out in the sea.

Army Installation Fort Dix
Fort Dix is one of the United States of installation of the Army placed in New Hanover’s Parts Township, Pemberton’s Municipality, and Springfield’s municipality, in the Burlington’s county, the zone of New Jersey, etc. Also it is a place notable census, and as of the United States, registers display that in 2000, the population of installation was 7464.

Fort Dix calls this way for the John Adams Dix. The construction began during the June, 1917. Camp Dix, since it was known in this then, was a formation and putting in scene of land for the units during the First World War the camp turned into a center of demobilization after the war. Between both world wars, the Camp Dix was the receipt; the formation and the center of unload for the Civil Body of Conservation. Camp Dix turned into Fort Dix on March 8, 1939, and the installation turned into a permanent position of the Army. Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst
The New Jersey Lakehurst is a naval Air Engineering facility and the origins date back to the beginning of 1917 when command came to existence like Naval Aircrafts Factory. This Navy spot was great, the aircraft manufacturer and factories are always very busy constructing the airplanes for the USA Army. This is why they decided to go for a facility like this to operate only and aircraft factory completely owned by the United States Government.

Also, the secretary of Navy, called Josephus Daniels, was the one who authorized this establishment: Naval Aircraft Factory located in Philadelphia, back on July 1917: the ground was totally broken August 1917, & even much less than 8 months later a great airplane, actually the very 1^st one which was H-16 fly Boat, was the one to flew to war.

Naval Weapons Station Earle
The New Jersey Earle Naval Station is great; this facility is located at northern zone of New Jersey shore it is also next to Sandy Hook Bay. It received the command chief name and it was later changed when 1974 started from a Naval Ammunition to Depot the Naval Weapon Station. The water front place is today homeport to Seattle USS the AOE 3, the USS Detroit AOE 4, the USS Supply which is the AOE 6, the USS Arctic which is the AOE 8, & it also housed the high-tech Combat Logistics Groups number 2. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard
The New Hampshite Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is usually called Portsmouth Yard; it is a USA Navy shipyard which is located right in Kittery this is on southern Maine boundary next to Portsmouth. This place was established back on June, 1800 and it took place during administration of the President and he was John Adams, this is like the oldest shipyard that is constantly operating in the USA Navy. This is like on cluster of islands named Seavey Island and the best part is, it prevents the ice from blocking anything. This area has great tradition, especially when it comes to shipbuilding.

Since the colonial settlement, the forests were able to provide lumber to build the wooden boats and meet the construction needs. The Treaty Building was back in 1912. Many prisoners of the war were actually encamped before in 1898 and it happened right on the base grounds.

Later, in 1905, the construction started directly on Portsmouth Prison, it was like a military prison called The Castle due to the strong resemblance of crenellated castle. This was like the main prison built for Marine Corps, and it was also housing for German crew’s right after the capture, till it was then closed later in 1974.

There was an event and for arranging peace conference, the President Roosevelt could this way win a Nobel Peace Prize. The delegates later met at the General Stores Buildings, today the Admin Building which is the building 86. Somehow recently, back in 2005, summer events ended up marking 100th anniversary because of this treaty, even a Navy destroyer visited; there was a parade, even re-enactment diplomats that came from the 2 nations.

USCG Training Center Cape May
The area that is occupied by New Jersey Cape May, has a lot of history linked to naval presence. Going back to American Revolution & through nineteenth century, the Cape May was once used like a harbor to refuge. Later in 1917, Navy established this like a section force base right there in the great Cape May, in order to provide with the proper training, the right vessel support & communication places meant for the coastal defense.

At first Navy converted abandoned the amusement center, they built this along oceanfront, and it was for military usage. Old skating rinks became mess halls and the sleeping quarters, a stage was actually made into the galley, it was like the human huge roulette wheels – even a scrubbing table & the fun barrel which became a total brig. Creech Air Force Base
The Nevada Air Force Creech was approved renaming the Indian Springs Air base Auxiliary and it was a Base developed in honor to W.L. Creech. The General Creech actually revolutionized Air Force while advocating many fabulous views and a great philosophy of a decentralized authority & responsibility, shaped today AFB through a leadership like the command of a Tactical Command! In addition, no officer had more influence on Air Force recently by the General Creech. He actually transformed the manner Air Force actually conducted the warfare. Furthermore he was war super hero of Vietnam and Korea that improved all the tactics leading to successes in the fabulous Persian Gulf, in Afghanistan, in Iraq and in Kosovo.

Also, the respective airfield, was originally constructed by army back in the beginning of 1940 in order to fully support all the war efforts, it was renamed by a community of several people in Indian Springs, Nevada- this took place back in 1964. Today it is home of many Aerial Vehicles Battles Lab, eleventh Reconnaissance Squadrons, & the Silver Flags Alpha. The eleventh & the fifteenth reconnaissance squadron, the Indian Springs AFB Auxiliary Fields, Nevada today operates the known and high-tech RQ-1A/B. Also, the Predator systems were designed for the Defense Department requirements in such a way to fully provide the persistent intelligence, the surveillance considering the reconnaissance data to war fighters.

Malmstrom Air Force Base
The Malmstrom Air Force Base located in Montana was named after Colonel Einar Axel Malmstrom, who was killed in an airplane crash. It was originally built during the Second World War out of a request made by two senators of Montana, namely James E. Murray and Burton K. Wheeler but the actual funds for building the site came from the Great Falls Municipal Airport. Initially named East Base, the building of the vase began. The initial plan was to use the East Base as a training base for heavy bomber facilities. It was later to build an air passage between Ladd Field, Great Falls and Fairbanks and also to help in the supply of aviation supplies used for fighting to the German Army and the Soviet Union. The facility began to operate as an airfield and many bombardment groups were trained.

During the Second World War, the bombardments trained at the base were responsible for raids in Germany. Naval Support Activity Bahrain
The Naval Support Activity is in the center of the busiest sixty acres of the world, in Middle East and in the eastern side of Saudi Arabia. It offers different kinds of support and services to the remote sites of the entire region, civilian and military employees living in the Bahrain and the support to the ships. This is the base for more than 4,400 military employees and the DOD civilian personnel that serve the 78 Tenant command and the NSA Bahrain including the Joint Coalition Forces. This navy base houses the United States Fifth Fleet and the US Naval Forces Central Command.

Currently, the Naval Support Activity is undergoing renovation and rehabilitation projects that will make room for more improvement in their services and facilities. On April 13, 1935, British Navy developed the naval station HMS JUFFAIR in the NSA site. In 1950, United States lease a portion of space in the area from British and the British troops left Bahrain due to the expiration of their treaty agreement leaving the place awarding the place total independence. After United States had signed a contract with Bahraini Government, the US took control part of the HMS JUFFAIR and change the name to managerial Support Unit Bahrain and later named as the managerial Support Unit then on 1979, ASU Southwest Asia was made the Naval Support Activity Bahrain.

NSA is the major naval base in the area that provides support to the marine and naval activities of the operation Iraqi Freedom and operating Enduring Freedom. Offutt Air Force Base
The Nebraska Offutt AFB is U.S. installation that is near Omaha, it lies next to Bellevue that is in Nebraska. It has an Aviation use that began back in September 1918 and it was during the World War 1 like Army Service for air balloon fields. Furthermore, it was once renamed to honor the pilot that was an Omaha native his name was Jarvis Offutt and this happened back in 1924.

Whiteman Air Force Base
Officially named as Whitman Air Force Base, this United States Air Force base covers approximately acres of land. The center was first run by the Army Air Forces’ XII Troop Carrier Command unit but is currently being run by the 509^th Bombing Wing and commanded jointly by BG Scott A. Vander Hamm as the Bomb Wing Commander and Sergeant Tim Cooley as the Command Chief Master Sergeant. This base hosts both units of the Army and Navy units and air force; the Bombing Wing of the Air National Guard of Missouri is hosted in this center. The center also oversees the Air Force Strike Command as well as host to many others.

The Facility was initially set up during the First World War for use as WACO glider pilots’ training center. It began by workers building a rail road on what used to be known as the ‘Blue Flats’. Other link roads and structures were constructed quickly. The runway is made of concrete totaling over 27,800 square yards, which was constructed by pouring out whiles driving a Midwest rainstorm. The official opening ceremony of the base was conducted in 1942.

The air facilities at the center were used for transporting personnel as well as other types of cargo. The C-47 and C-46 aircrafts were used for the transport services in addition to other gliders. The center provides training for instructors for all the training bases for combat crew; in effect, it was a training center for trainers. Most of the buildings at the base were brought down in 1940s and the facility closed. However during the cold war, it was opened again and the facility used as a bombardment wing. Whiteman Base became host to Minuteman ICBM wing, which was the fourth in the series. The vase was rebuilt in the famous excavation exercise, where large surface of concrete was laid at the base.
