Upon establishment of the complex in 1942, the base is known to accommodate the 78th Air Base Wing along with the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, which is still in effect. The name given to the base was derived from the Brigadier, General Augustine Warner Robins recognized as the father for the Air Force logistics.
