Maryland Bethesda Medical Center is also known as National Naval Medical Center and it is situated in the city of Bethesda in state Maryland. The medical center was built in 1940 and it has been operating as one of the best US naval hospitals. The staff of medical center comprises of both civilians and military personnel. It also has the honor to provide health care to the family of US President. The center is made up of research department to conduct research work, provide health care for high profile Americans as well as medical care services to both current and former military personnel.

There are also some plans to merge Maryland Bethesda Medical Center with Walter Reed Army Medical Center to create a larger medical center with more facilities and services. The medical offers great services and it is build with many medical features. It works to provide better service and work with other organizations such as Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, which is run by US Federal Government. It also works with Armed Forces Radiobiology Institute providing facilities to other medical organizations and institutes. They all work together to provide better medical research platform and services to both civilians and military personnel.



The original design of the project only included health care services but after numerous upgrades of medical staff and instruments it is more than just medical center. Today it has become home to medical center for family of US President, American hero and some of the most high profile civil and military personnel. Even the President Ronal Reagan’s wife Nancy Reagan visited Maryland Bethesda Medical Center for medical care.
In 1960 it went under a major expansion upgrade costing around $5.6 million, the main building was added with more floors, more bed spaces were added to the inventory of the center and temporarily ward building built during World War II was removed from the project.
