The US Army Fort Carson was constructed in 1942 and has a prominent location in El Paso, Colorado. Another name for the Fort Carson facility is the Mountain Post and it is nestled on an estimated land mass of 137, 000 acres of land. Currently the establishment is occupied by a total of 10, 556 active soldiers on duty, civilian employees, reservists and family members.

This military base is the compound facility that hosts the first, second, third and fourth Brigade Combat team along with the 71st Ordnance Group, the fourth Infantry Division, the 759th Military Police Battalion, the 43rd Sustainment Brigade, the 10th Combat Support Hospital and the 10th Special Forces Group.

After establishment of this facility, an attack was strategized on the Pearl Harbor, which resulted in a positive outcome allowing the facility to rule in favor. The name Fort Carson was derived from the legendary army scout, General Christopher Carson who traveled the West for exploration in the 17th century. After World War II, the facility served as a War Camp.

The garrison team at the Mountain Post is efficient in maintenance and support for services and units which includes: substantial programs in life aid for families, the community and the Fort Carson Soldiers minimizing strain and expediting numerous operations to decrease persistent conflicts in the country.
