This is yet a unique military base that cannot be left out as far as military bases are concerned. To be precise, the South Carolina Charleston Hospital was first established on 31^st July 1917 and has served an excellent purpose so far. At that time, there was only a one-story building and some wooden structures to take care of the number of sick. Although the situation was not all that good for the sick, the hospital pursued better things. Today, this hospital is said to possess all the necessary facilities that a normal hospital requires, making it very special.

However, it is imperative to state that, by 14^th February 1970, a new hospital known as Charleston Naval Hospital was established, and this establishment resulted from the previous one. With the new structure, there were about 500 beds, and these beds were able to take care of every sick in the hospital at time. Its many qualified doctors have even made the whole environment a lovely and trustworthy place and this of course has given a lot of people so much confidence to always visit there when they are sick.

It is well noted that, in 1917 the establishment of the then hospital was purposely to aid all the soldiers who were so badly injured during the war at that time. Although the hospital was not so equipped at that time, it is well known that it helped many soldiers. The hospital has served a purpose and for that matter, should always be acknowledged. All those who have received treatment from this hospital should know better about it.

The South Carolina Beaufort Hospital is said to be one of the best hospitals as far has military base is concerned. This particular hospital is well equipped with a whole lot of things to aid it operate effectively without any problem. The Beaufort hospital was commissioned on 29^th April, 1949 and ever since has served greatly to the people of South Carolina and its environs. The issue is that, sometimes some people really do not know how important some of these hospitals are. But then one major thing to notice is that, the Beaufort hospital has really helped many soldiers for over 50 years and this implies a lot.

It is worthwhile to state here that, the hospital does not only treat those who are military men or women but any member of the State. Many civilians have really enjoyed so much health treatment from this particular hospital and they are very much appreciative with what they encounter. Some of their medical doctors who are well trained military men often do their jobs in a marvelous manner. Therefore when one is not told that is a military man it will be very difficult to know. They are said to be well trained and hence handle a whole lot of issues concerning health.

Furthermore, the Beaufort community is said to possess about 35000 civilians who really seek health care from this hospital. The good news is that, they are all often well served in terms of health no one has ever complained after treatment. The Naval Weapons Station Charleston, accommodates 17 000 acres in land formation vast in wetlands and forestry of approximately 10 000 acres. The facility overlaps its landmass in North Charleston City and Goose Creek City, Hanahan, South Carolina.

During the heat of World War II, the installation was formerly recognized as the United States Naval Ammunition Depot, which functions as a distribution and collection point for ammunition in close proximity to the Charleston Naval Shipyard.

At present, the facility accommodates the Charleston divisional Naval Consolidated Brigade, the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, the Naval and Space Warfare Systems Center, the Nuclear Power Training Unit, the Mobile Mine Assembly Unit, a barrage of Explosive Ordinance Detachments, the Border Patrol Satellite Academy and the Propulsion Facility.  The installation is maintained on a property that lies 25 miles northerly of the city of Charleston in South Carolina, inclined on the edge of Cooper River.

The division is responsible for its provision of logistical and technical material to various components, combat subsystems, retail ammunition management and equipments to fleet operations.

Throughout the war ages the installation formalized ammunition issuance, storing, receivables and reworking. During the mobilization of the Korean War, the installation was utilized as a partial maintenance station, which was later elevated to active status in 1952. With land expansion in 1954, the base was given the name Liberty Hall Annex, which is the main purpose of the expansion. However with improvements being ordained for the organization, it received its current recognition Naval Weapons Station Charleston in the year 1965.

The base acquired 16, 344 acres in land population by the year 1990. The base currently provides support for 9 Navy Reserve Units, the Maritime Prepositioning Force along with over thirty tenant activities which includes: the 1304^th Major Port Command, the Strategic Mobility Logistics Base, the Naval Consolidated Brigade, the Propulsion Training Facility, the Military Traffic Management Command and the Nuclear Power Training Unit.
