There are eight military bases in South Carolina.

    This is yet a unique military base that cannot be left out as far as military bases are concerned. To be precise, the South Carolina Charleston Hospital was first established on 31st July 1917 and has served an excellent purpose so far.   • Shaw Air Force Base

    The Shaw Air Force Base is situated in the City of Sumter, South Carolina. The establishment inherited completion of development in the year 1941 and is the current accommodation utilized to host the F-16 Combat Wing, the United States Central Command Air Forces, the 20th Fighter Wing and the Ninth Air Force.   • Naval Weapons Station Charleston

    The Naval Weapons Station Charleston, accommodates 17 000 acres in land formation vast in wetlands and forestry of approximately 10 000 acres. The facility overlaps its landmass in North Charleston City and Goose Creek City, Hanahan, South Carolina.

    During the heat of World War II, the installation was formerly recognized as the United States Naval Ammunition Depot, which functions as a distribution and collection point for ammunition in close proximity to the Charleston Naval Shipyard.

    At present, the facility accommodates the Charleston divisional Naval Consolidated Brigade, the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command, the Naval and Space Warfare Systems Center, the Nuclear Power Training Unit, the Mobile Mine Assembly Unit, a barrage of Explosive Ordinance Detachments, the Border Patrol Satellite Academy and the Propulsion Facility.  The installation is maintained on a property that lies 25 miles northerly of the city of Charleston in South Carolina, inclined on the edge of Cooper River.

    The division is responsible for its provision of logistical and technical material to various components, combat subsystems, retail ammunition management and equipments to fleet operations.

    Throughout the war ages the installation formalized ammunition issuance, storing, receivables and reworking. During the mobilization of the Korean War, the installation was utilized as a partial maintenance station, which was later elevated to active status in 1952. With land expansion in 1954, the base was given the name Liberty Hall Annex, which is the main purpose of the expansion.     This Island conducts training for the initialization of first level Marine Corps and is situated in Port Royal with a South Carolina encompassment.     The eastern recruiting division for this line of specialized military operatives is nestled in the south easterly corner of Lowcountry in the State of South Carolina constituted in Beaufort County, at an altitude of approximately 20 feet above the sea. The property is huddled on 7, 132 acres of land formation with space utilization of approximately 3, 262 acres for operational accommodation. The installation lies at an estimated distance of 70 miles from South Charleston in South Carolina and coordinating 45 miles from Savannah, Georgia.

    The key aspiration of the facility is to conduct effective training to produce professional male recruits from the recruiting division located on the eastern section of the state. Training is also conducted to assigned female recruits from all areas in the United States. The base formalizes management for twenty-three stations and three headquarter districts.  The three headquarters may include: the 4th Marine Corp Depot, situated in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, the 1st Marine Corp Depot, nestled in Garden City, New York and the 6th Marine Corp Depot, hosted in Parris Island, South Carolina.
