USAG Heidelberg

When the Americans came in Heidelberg back March 1945, which there where intact structures historically. Heidelberg turned into house of European headquarters of the Army, 7 º Command of the Reservation of the Army, and 5 of the Headquarters of the Body.  The Kasernes Heidelberg they were constructed back in 1939- In addition a few of most respected of military units Germans parked time there, including the best Division of German Infantry. It was a question of a division of elite that it fought across very devastating ones & more important combats of 1st World war, even Russian front.

USAG Heidelberg Facts

When the 2nd World war ended, the Army of the USA! Thirdly with some other celebrity soldier, George Patton, who took & occupied the specific zone of Germany. So he turned into the commander of the first one into times of peace of the American forces into Heidelberg.  Today, we find like around 16.000 civil, military and familiar members at the expense of the Defense Department of life and of work in Heidelberg.

The community of Heidelberg military men at present tenant consists of 16 facilities and 30 more units. Principal commands tenant include: the Headquarters, Army of The United States of Europe and the seventh Army; Headquarters, 5 º Body, Joint Headquarters Center like formally LANDCEN, 1 of Support supervised by Personnel, Contracting and of the Headquarters of command, for naming some.

Heidelberg is known as a great and romantic city which is situated on banks of the Neckar; it occupies today a fabulous position that astraddle on the respective door of a natural and huge entry. This is actually formed by Königstuhl & Heiligenberg (“Monte Santo”). It is dominated by the impressive castle ruins that for 5 long centuries were the residence of the electors brilliant Court Prince- At times considered like the prettiest city of Germany!

    I’d like to know where you got the images. Mostly, because I believe the first image is one I took at the Change of Command in Heidelberg while stationed there. I’m honored you’re using it, but I would love to know where you found it. As far as I know I only gave a CD of the images to the HQ. If they published them, I’d like to know so I can link back to it.

      I am not sure where did I got this image. I did some little Google search and it appears that my website is the only one that has this image.
      I cal list you as an author of this images no problem with that.
