At the foot of the famous Alps in Italy there an Air base of American Air Force is located named Aviano. The well known 31st Fighter Wing is located in Aviano, and it is a major air component of the US European Command. To maintain and logistic support there are two operational fighter squadrons are ready with the 31st Fighter Wing.
Actually the Aviano Air Base was built by the Italian Air forces in the 1st World War to attack against the German Army. In 1911 Italian government made the Aviano. It was used to train Italian pilots, and to provide construction facilities for aircraft. As a part of the cooperation through NATO between America and Italy in 1954 Americans moved to the Aviano Air Base after a joint agreement. As a result the base has no permanent combat fighter presence.

There are seven different areas, and that each is serving a particular function. So definitely the Aviano has a unique layout. Area A1 has a newly built school and it supports functions like library and chapel. Area D is mainly created to serve the entertainment facilities.
There soccer/football fields and picnic areas are included. Area C is for providing contractor facilities, because there Civil engineering activities are held. The largest area of the base is F, and it is the fight area. Area E is the area for 16th Air Force Head Quarters area. Area A2 is decorated with fitness centers and dining halls.
